WAIT—the Ozone Layer Is Still Declining?

HELLO GUYS.Today I will be looking at the ways in which the ozone is declining and also ozone depletion.

  • scientists had found a hole in the planet’s ozone layer over Antarctica Decrease in temparatures , increase in the level of chlorine and bromine gases in the upper stratosphere are many of the reasons that result to ozone layer depletion. But the one which is the most significant reason for ozone layer depletion is the production and emission of chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs). This is what occurs to almost 80 percent of the total ozone layer depletion.Effects of ozone layer depletion

There are some possible effects of the ozone layer depletion on the earth’s environment and also on the plants and animals. The depletion of ozone layer allows the entrance of UV ray selated and environmental issues.

Skin Cancer: exposure to UV rays from sun can lead to increased risk for developing of several types of skin cancers. Malignant melanoma, basal and squamous cell carcinoma are the ones which are very common cancers caused by exposure to UV rays.

Eye Damage: UV rays are harzardous for our eyes too. Direct exposure to UV rays can lead to Cataract problems, and also Photokeratitis or snow blindness. We should therefore try to conserve the ozone layer in which if destroyed can cause a lot of harm.Image result for images of ozone layer destructionImage result for images of ozone layer destructionreference;https://www.scientificamerican...is-still-declining1/

it good that you have checked on how ozone layer is declining because previously we have cases of people complain that they are unable to see during morning hours because of the light but i wonder is that being caused by declination of the ozone layer or what?

so if it would be possible for which i think you can do try and check on ways to prevent ozone destruction because the word is getting into a danger place since that ozone layer prevents us from man harmful diseases including skin diseases

see you next time on your post

Hey Dorcas!

I really enjoyed reading your research as you formatted it very nicely and the use of pictures was a nice touch! I'm not sure if you are still researching about ozone depletion, but I liked when you mentioned that the depletion of the ozone layer effects plants and animals as well - not just humans! If you're interested, researching more into how these species are affected may be cool!
