Hi everyone! My inquiry question for this cycle is “What does Anime bring to us?”. I enjoy this research because I am interested in Anime, besides eSports which I wrote for last round. Basically, I didn't finish this round yet, until now, I introduced the history of Anime. Before Anime exist, due to the lower technique, they cannot make it to be a video, thus, people only have manga. Manga is said to originate from scrolls dating back to the 12th and 13th centuries. Before WW2, the Americans brought their own comics and cartoons, such as Disney works, Mickey Mouse, Betty Boop and Bambi, to the country already. Osamu Tezuka's made "Mighty Atom" that people called him as the father of Anime. That is the beginning of animation. Besides, I introduced different types of anime/manga in Round 1. For example, boys might like to see fantasy or action anime; girls prefer daily or about love. If you are interested in it, you can find details in "https://www.pa-mojabutterfly.com/topic/round-1-what-does-anime-bring-to-us". However, after I finish those two round, someone leaved a comment that the difference between anime and manga which I use those words together during the entire research without definition, is confused. So I wrote a extra round to explain it so that that round looks shorter than it should be. (http://www.pa-mojabutterfly.co...es-anime-bring-to-us). In brief, you can define manga as a book, carton book that we can read and find in book stores; in contrast, anime is video which we mostly watch it on TV or on our phone. In addition, most script of anime is comes from manga, others are from novel. For the rest round, I introduced the anime from different area(country). For round 7, I talked about the cosplay culture means people “cos (simulate, mimic)” their favorite cartoon character a s a hobby. This culture is now famous in both North America and Asia. Then, I did the economic effects as the final round of my inquiry, which is also the most important part. Especially in Japan, as the research, during 19th century, japan s economy improved a lot. If you have any question, please leave the comment or send me a private message.
This is so cool to learn about the origins of anime. I mean, it is technically same as Spongebob etc, but japanese animation sets a whole new category. Western animations are just another category under cartoons.
So it was really great to read your research this year! Nice!
Have a great summer.
