Mini Personality Test

Sophie Holland (LFAS) - Alumni
Hello everyone! This will be my last post on the site, at least for a while or unless I change this test. I have created some questions based around "The Big Five" personality traits, because they are known to be more reliable than the MBTI test. I have created the questions based around sources I have looked at for my previous research rounds, as well as tests I have taken. I hope you all find some time to take the test, and you enjoy! Butterfly Effect “The Big Five” Mini Test Constructed...Read More...

Hello everyone! This post is going to be a bit smaller than my previous posts. Recently, I have conducted a survey with the grade 9's at my school because many of them took the MBTI test as part of their Careers 8 curriculum. I only have a few results in so far, but I plan to get some more from the classes as soon as possible. As of June 6th, 2019, here are the results: Questions Asked: Did you complete the MBTI personality test as part of Careers 8? (I filtered out all the students who...Read More...

Hello everybody, Sorry I haven't posted in quite a while, I've been at a bit of a lull in terms of my research as I am waiting for some survey results to come in. However, I dug up some new research on another type of personality test: The Big Five. The Big Five is a personality test that is considered to be more valid than MBTI, mainly because it assesses people using a range of traits, (2) rather than giving them four letters and placing them in a box. Many psychologists also believe that...Read More...

Hello lovely people, This is going to be my last "traditional" research round, because in the next few weeks I am going to be conducting surveys. I will keep you all up to date on the data I acquire and I will absolutely continue to post. Anyways, back to the research. Is it possible to make the MBTI test more reliable? “Personality is qualitative." (1) It doesn’t have exact numbers, but it’s more about qualities, so it is often difficult to find concrete answers to any personality test. Of...Read More...

Hello everyone! First off, for those of you who celebrate Easter, Happy Easter! I hope you all enjoy this round of research. In this round, I focussed on the reliability of the MBTI personalities and the possible flaws with the test. Here is what I found: Many people have taken the MBTI test - it is so popular, nearly 2.5 million people a year (1) take it! Of course, it is impossible to create a perfect personality test, (4) however, this test is more controversial than I imagined. Some...Read More...

Hello everyone! As many people might know, my inquiry covers the MBTI personality test and how reliable it actually is. First off, I thought I would start by establishing the different MBTI types and going into a bit of detail about each one. What are the MBTI personalities and how does the test work? MBTI stands for Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. The concept was created by mother and daughter Katherine Briggs and Isabel Briggs Myers, and is “… an adaptation of the theory of psychological...Read More...

Hello folks! It's been a long time since I've posted anything... my apologies. I'm excited to share my next inquiry: "How valid are the MBTI personalities?" I am interested in this essential question because I have always been curious about people's personalities. I want to explore the MBTI concept because I am amazed at how a system was created to essentially "put people in a box," and I am also wondering how valid the process is. Established knowledge: The MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type...Read More...

Hello everybody! First off, I'd like to wish everyone a happy holiday season. Whatever you celebrate, hope it's great! Now anyways, back to the research. For those who have been following my work, in my last round I looked at different examples of cultural appropriation in visual arts and film. This is my last research round on this topic. I'd like to thank everyone for their comments on my previous rounds. Many people suggested I look at the "fine line" in terms of cultural appropriation.Read More...

Hello everyone! In this round of research , I will be looking at examples of cultural appropriation in visual art and film. Cultural appropriation has impacted all the arts in some way at some point, and I want to look at different types. * I also want everyone to be aware that this post will contain brief mentions of racially motivated violence and other sensitive subject matter. * Much like in literature, visual arts and film grapple with cultural appropriation, and both sides of the...Read More...
