Hi guys, I will be doing an inquiry project for semester 2.
Although I did an inquiry project for semester 1 as well, I found the process very interesting and wanted to spend more time becoming familiarized with the techniques and methods of approaching questions in this way. This semester I have decided to do my inquiry project on the affects of Auto-immune diseases on children of various ages, from teenagers, to adolescents. This topic has been one of great interest to me because unfortunately in our fast changing society we neglect to understand the affects diseases have on lives apart from a physical-health standing point. I am excited to tackle a question like this because it seems that not many know what auto-immune diseases are and how wide they range in variety and severity. Recently, I have noticed that research for most auto-immune diseases as well as rare diseases are neglected ( which is understandable) compared to many other topics. In researching about this topic I hope to bring awareness, and make other interested in this field!
Have a nice day!!
I agree that auto-immune diseases are so neglected. After my mother got diagnosed with MS (Multiple Sclerosis), it really took a toll on her and it’s very hard to witness that. I suggest you explore the topic of how it is to live with an auto-immune disorder mentally.
Hope this helps!
Your topic is so interesting! You’re right – I’m one of the many that had no idea what autoimmune disease is until I just googled it up now. I’m excited to read more of your blogs in the future, learn more about this disease, and how it affects children of different ages!
Here are a few links that might be helpful for your research:
Good luck and I look forward to more of your blogs!!
