Step 2 action post -Sydney

  1. My partner and I will be working with the campaign “Project Hello” and will be going around helping the homeless/poor. We will be making care packages, cards, taking them for lunch (and more) and most importantly putting a smile on peoples faces! We will be starting off with talking to the person who runs “Project Hello”. Her name is Kristi Blakeway. I am very close to her so it will be easy to talk to her. She will get us started by us making cards and setting up care packages to give to people! Eventually we will be going to places like Vancouver or places more locally like Poco and handing out care packages!
  2. There are some things that could easily go wrong but we will try are very hardest to prevent those little things from happening! Homeless people can sometimes not be kind, and a lot of them have done/do drugs so that is something we need to be careful about. We need to make sure that we are safe along with everyone else around us. Sometimes things might not go as planned but that’s okay because we can move on and always try something new!
  3. Yes, it is in many ways! We would be helping many other people and putting smiles on their faces, and we will be feeling accomplished with our selves too! This action project can last for a long time! Even if we don’t give the homeless things every time, we see them that is okay! A smile on their face is all that counts.
  4. Yes, this action project is providing opportunity for both my partner and I also, for the homeless. This will impact the homeless and hopefully get them up and onto their feet.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              The expert I chose to right about is Kristi Blakeway who is one of my close family friends wrote them book “Beyond Hello” and she started “Project Hello”. She went to Charles best (with my mom). Kristi was born and raised in Coquitlam. She worked at Terry Fox in the business department. Later she moved to Charles Best as a counsellor then eventually became acting VP. Later, she moved out to some school districts in Maple Ridge and has been working out there since. Along with working on her book “Beyond Hello” and also on “Project Hello”!

  1. Hey Sydney,

I can’t wait to work with you to help the less fortunate. We should definitely start thinking about care package ideas; I have a few in mind that I’d love to share with you. I can’t wait to see what we can accomplish by participating in “Project HELLO!”

  2. Hi Sydney,
your idea to help the homeless is so smart and creative! I think they definitely deserve some love and special treatment, after being neglected and suffered for so long. If I was homeless, I would be so grateful to the high schoolers for caring and thinking about me. Anyways, care packages would be great gifts. Years ago, a group of girls and I also made care packages for the homeless during Christmas season. We included a bunch of warm socks, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and deodorant inside. I advise you to begin thinking about what you might want to put inside the packages. Kristi seems like a very nice person and it is great that she is helping you with this project.
Hope your project goes according to plan!
