I have decided for my inquiry question, I am going to ask “where does personality come from?” I decided to do this question because I find learning about different personalities very interesting. Everyone is different but still, we have our similarities. I wan to discover where personality is derived from. Are we born with it or does our environment create how we act and how we feel? I also want to research this question to find out how my own personality was formed. I think looking in to this will help me understand and be able to connect better with my piers.
There are going to be multiple steps in my inquiry project but one of the biggest questions and probably my first question will be “are we born with our personality?” or “do we develop personality over our lives depending on our environment?”. For are we born with personality, I want to look into the brain and where exactly our personality is controlled. Where in the brain is responsible for controlling our persona? For my question do we develop personality over a period of time, I want to research how our family, friends or even siblings might influence our personality. I think its also important to look at what we see, watch, read and feel on a day to day basis and how this might altar and effect our personalities. Second, I want to ask does our personality ever really stop growing? Could you be developing and redeveloping your personality at any moment at every age? Hopefully, I’ll be able to answer these questions in my inquiry project.
some websites that I think will help me find my information are:
I think my topic will help individuals understand a bit more about themselves and their emotions. I think it will be interesting for everyone to learn a bit more about why they are they way they are and how they came to be who they are today. If it turns out that personality is affected by the environment, it could help or motivate people to respect and enrich our environments so everyone can have a positive personality that they accept and love. I know that I am excited to find this out and I hope you are all excited as well!
I think it’s great that you are interested in how personality is developed. I agree that it’s important to learn about how we became who we are.
The only thing I would change would be to go a bit deeper with your questions. You mentioned that you will be asking if we are born with our personality, if we develop personality over our lives depending on our environment, where in the brain is responsible for controlling our persona, and does our personality ever really stop growing but I think those questions can be a little deeper. for example, for environment instead of asking if our personality develops depending on our environment maybe ask “what environments change personality the most or least? or “how can environments change personality?” because most people know that environment is a factor in personality.

I really enjoyed reading your post, and I think you have chosen a very interesting topic. A huge part of child’s environment is their home life. I think that parents could really affect a child’s personality, negatively or positively. Here is a website that talks bout this: https://www.thecut.com/2016/10/how-parenting-affects-kids-depending-on-personality.html
Something else to consider is also at what age your personality stops developing. This website adresses this question:
Here is another very useful website that shows the process of developing a personality:
Good luck on future posts, and I look forward to reading your research!
I really enjoyed reading about your post. Studying the topic of personality is a very interesting subject that can be driven into many different directions! The way you already have decided on which questions you are going to tackle individually is very well thought out and structured.
Personality is something that is connected with a lot of who we are and how we develop and perceive things as a person! It could be aligned with expression of emotion and thought processes with different subjects. It is a very intriguing subject!
One thing that I would suggest is to plan out each step of research and which order of the questions you have listed are you going to address? Creating a schedule or steps that you are going to research may help you follow guidelines in achieving your research rounds effectively.
This is much like an inquiry project I am conducting in Science this year! I am also looking into how the brain perceives emotions and how it works within the brain. I found that emotions are usually conducted according to cognitive and autobiographical memory, which could be linked with the personality. Maybe looking into those memory types will help you connect personality to your goal of implications on helping people understand about their emotions.

I look forward to seeing how your project develops!
Great project plan! I enjoyed how you structured your post because it was very easy to follow along. I really like your topic!
The reality is that personality makes us who we are, and it influences many aspects of our lives. As a result, it would be very interesting to study. Moreover, I enjoyed reading the questions you wrote. In particular, I found it interesting when you asked whether we are born with personality or whether the environment creates it for us. Another good question we could ask whether it is inherited?
In my Français 12 class, we are currently reading a novel called The Stranger by Albert Camus. It really went into depth about existentialism and the idea of absurdity. The main character’s name is Meursault, and he is psychologically detached from the world around him. Because of his different personality, the society views him as a stranger and a threat to social norms. I find that this book connects to your topic on personality because we often face pressure on how we should act by the people around us. If you are interested, I would suggest you research the effects of society and expectations on how people conduct themselves. I included some links below that could help. I also suggest you organize what topics you would like to tackle per post, so it could be easier to organize and meet all the points to your inquiry.
Until your next post,
