Leonarda Ognjenovic

HI! My name is Leonarda, and I am 16 years old. I am in grade 12 at Langley Fine Arts. When it comes to my interests, I enjoy playing tennis, playing the piano, and doing art. But even though I’m a very artsy person (and go to an art school) when I go to university, I would like to study Engineering. A cool thing about me would be that I wasn’t born in Canada, but in Croatia, Europe. I came to Canada when I was 11, and I skipped grade six because of my birthday! My passion and life goal would be to help others, in any way, small or big! I joined butterfly effect because I enjoy self-directed research, but I stayed for the wonderful community and experience we were able to create in our little group. When going to high school in North America, we don’t have too many options to chose in what we want to study (which is totally okay because we are still so young!), so when I heard of butterfly effect it sounded like a great opportunity to look into something I’m personally more interested in. Being in butterfly is really wonderful, and I am extremely grateful for the wonderful learning opportunities I gained throughout the years. 🙂

  1. Hi Leonarda!
I really enjoyed your post! Are you planning on doing an inquiry or action project this year? I noticed you mentioned that you have a passion for helping others… you could possibly take this passion and develop an action that would let you do this!! It could range from a variety of initiatives big or small that will implement your life goal!
    Just an idea!!
I look forward to seeing what you do this year in Butterfly!!
